Ransomware Hurts

Mimic builds the leading enterprise defense against ransomware and cyber extortion

Fighting Extortion

We are exclusively focused on combating cyber extortion because we've seen its incredibly destructive impact on organizations. The effect of cyber extortion goes beyond mere disruption—it can devastate businesses, shut down hospitals putting lives in danger, and disrupt essential civil services like the water supply.

Our vision is a future where companies can operate free of the constant threat of cyber extortion - where paying ransoms to keep afloat is no longer the norm.

Our Story

Industry Experts Joining Forces

Leaders from Citibank, Walmart, Vodafone, Raytheon, F5, and the U.S. Department of Defense, who played key roles in developing the industry's first data leak prevention technology (acquired by Raytheon) and the first-ever bot defense company (acquired by F5), have come together to develop an entirely new approach to ransomware defense.

One of the first high-profile ransomware attacks ever, occurred on May 7, 2021, when Colonial Pipeline, an oil pipeline system that carries gasoline and jet fuel from Houston through the Southeastern U.S. and to the New York Harbor suffered a ransomware attack which caused the entire pipeline to be shut down, crippling fuel supplies to the Eastern U.S. Marie Mouchet, the CIO of Colonial at the time of the attack, led the fight to get Colonial back online.
